Welcome to the World of Literature

0032.JPG

My name is Tim Hughes. I earned my BA in English and a Minor in Sociology at Northern State University and a Masters in Education degree from the University of Sioux Falls. I have taught in Garretson since 2006 and currently teach American Literature, General Literature and Speech . In addition to my classroom duties, I'm also the Head Football Coach and Assistant Track Coach where I work with the Long and Triple Jumpers. Whether it's in the classroom or on the athletic field, I believe that every student has the chance to succeed if they simply give their best in all they do!

Feel free to contact me with any classroom related concerns and I will do my best to work with you and your student to address them. Tim.Hughes@k12.sd.us

 Mr. Hughes' Classroom Rules

1. Respect - Everyone's opinion counts. No mocking, insulting or bad mouthing classmates in any way.  Use your manners at all times. If you can't be respectful, don't say anything at all.

2. Learn - Do your best! I expect you to work to your capabilities.

3. Responsibilty - Your work, your homework, your books.....YOUR GRADE! Nobody else is responsible for your education, it's up to you to make the most of it.

4. Fun - Have fun, smile and have a great attitude and it is my hope, that will enhance your learning experience. Every day may not be a "laugh-a-thon" but every day is as good as you make it.
